Andy Gibson sets new long jump record

The new Garthdee World Record series kicked off on Wednesday, with a closely fought battle for the Long Jump record. Findlay Bremner got some serious distance with his last attempt, but it was 15-year-old Andy Gibson who edged him out by a few centimetres to set a new record of 10m 90cm* (35ft 9in). His distance is marked by the silver arrow on the landing.

However, he’s still got some way to go to beat Nicol’s senior record of 13m 81cm (45ft 4in)! Look for the green arrow on the landing to see how far he got.

Look for more records, including highest ollie and highest air out of the quarterpipe, to be challenged in the coming weeks.
