Board Test Tastic

7 Oct

For the last 2 Wednesdays,  the centre has been busy with visits from Boaderline and Granite Reef teasing us with the latest kit from the best snowboard brands out there.

Last Wednesday it was Burton and Forum’s test night under some trying conditions with the rain and wind lashing down, fairly typical of what you would expect of a day on the hills!

But this didn’t dampen the spirits of the attendees though, there was a good turnout of regulars who were keen to check out what the latest kit was looking like and happy to strap in and give it a fair thrashing.

Nicol kept the beats loud, to the point where the neighbours were complaining, and feedback was that it was a great night all round.

This week saw Ride, K2 and Volkl at the slope. If you like bright colours then you would be in your element here, no chance of losing your board outside the cafe on the hill this year!

Seemed like all the Granite Reef staff were in and they were kept busy fitting people up.

It was a good night and great to see long time riders like Cowie, Cassie, Goodie and Addison down for a schralp as well as a crew up from St Andrews and Edinburgh. Good effort fellas. Greg Smith was in to say hi after his knee op last week too, wishing you a speedy recovery dude.

There is definitely a feeling of winter approaching and everyone is keen to get out and work on their riding strength for the coming season.

With a whole swag of events coming up, now is the time to work on those switch backsides and pretzels.

With a whole swag of events coming up, now is the time to work on those switch backsides and pretzels.

On the calendar we have Own It here this weekend and then on the 23rd the Lowlander Series kicking off with the 1st leg of the series in Aberdeen.

So go check out your local board shop for the latest kit this season, talk to the team and let them convince you that you do need new boots, board or bindings and maybe a jacket and trousers to match.

Do some sit ups and press ups for the next few weeks, work hard and be good to your mum’s and lets all have a wee word to the man upstairs to see if he can hook us up with another epic winter.
